It’s Mama’s 46th birthday yesterday. The Evangelista Family was here — aunts, uncles, cousins. We watched a video taken in 1989 at the newly opened Shangrila Mall. It looked a lot different then. It seemed like Shakey’s was the place to eat/ to be. T-shirts and cycling shorts matched with rubber shoes. Good thing t-shirts don’t fit me well then so I didn’t have to be a victim of that fashion style. I wore polo shirts matched with skirts and doll shoes. Ok for a ked eh? I realized why I’m maarte now… my mother used to dress me up kse lagi dati. There was one scene where I was wearing a shirt pala… Barbie. Then Ate noticed… May padding! hahahah! I thought I was the only fashionista in the family… di rin pala! My parents were skinny pa that time. My aunts were high-waisted. Only thing that stayed the same is the fact that I love the camera… I was always there, following the camera and asking the others to look at it, wave and smile. I can’t wait for the other videos to be converted to VCDs. Thanks to technology talaga.
Reminiscing while we were watching the video, I was touched upon seeing myself sitting on my brother’s lap.
